When I was a kid, I watched Disney’s take on Jungle Book many times. I always thought that when the vultures said “..we’ve never met an animal we didn’t like..” they were talking about dead animals.. That they never met an animal they didn’t like the taste of.
Is that the actual meaning of the line or was I just a weird little kid?

So there’s this girl and she’s very sweet and pretty (though she won’t say so) and nerdy (that she’ll admit). We’re going to see each other face to face for the first time soon and we’re stressing out about it, but we’re doing our best about it. That’s just something that everybody deals with, whether you meet online or otherwise. We met on a message board years ago so I have high hopes.
Since, when we video chat we usually just talk, I was thinking about what movies we should watch together. For my pick I was thinking maybe Empire Strikes Back. Its a great adventure with some wonderful cinematic moments.
Then it hit me.
I’m not sure if she has even seen Empire, much less likes it. Sure its almost requisite nerd watching, but maybe she just doesn’t care about it.
And then another thought hit me. I don’t care.
I realized just now while stocking the beer cooler at work, that I could give up Star Wars for this woman. That’s not saying much nowadays (Lucas hasn’t been kind) but that’s something.
Then when I realized I’d give up Star TREK for her, I knew I’d have to write this down.
